Roblox has officially announced its next-generation membership plan, and it is set to change how millions of players and creators interact with the platform. Called Roblox Plus, this new subscription launches globally on April 30, 2026, and is priced at $4.99 USD per month. It is designed to replace the older Roblox Premium model and deliver a richer, more rewarding experience for the platform’s most dedicated users.
With over 144 million daily users as of the final quarter of 2025, Roblox has been under pressure to offer more value to its loyal player base while simultaneously growing creator revenue. Roblox Plus attempts to answer both of those demands at once, and the way it does so is worth understanding in full before you decide whether it is right for you.
What Is New Roblox Plus?
Roblox Plus is a monthly subscription that focuses on improving how players spend their Robux and engage with the platform, rather than simply handing out a fixed currency stipend each month. Unlike Roblox Premium, which gave subscribers a set amount of Robux every month, Roblox Plus is built around discounts, exclusive access, and enhanced platform features. The idea is to stretch your existing Robux further instead of topping them up.
The subscription is available to all users worldwide and can be accessed through the PC browser, mobile browser, or the Roblox app. Once subscribed, the benefits kick in immediately and are tied to your account across devices.

Roblox Plus Features and Benefits
The headline feature of Roblox Plus is its discount system. Subscribers receive a 10% reduction on in-game items, avatar purchases, and other Robux-based transactions the moment they sign up. What makes it more compelling is that this discount scales over time. After three consecutive months of maintaining the subscription, it doubles to 20%, effectively rewarding players who stick with it long-term. Importantly, Roblox itself covers the cost of these discounts, meaning creators continue to earn the full amount on every item sold, regardless of what a subscriber pays.
Beyond discounts, the subscription opens up several other features that were either locked or cost extra before:
- Free and unlimited private servers across all supported games, giving players full control over who they play with without paying per server.
- Zero-fee Robux transfers, allowing subscribers to send Robux directly to other players at no cost. Recipients do not need to be Plus members to receive transfers, though parental approval is required for users under 18.
- Avatar item trading and reselling, letting players build collections of rare items and exchange them with others.
- Publishing and selling avatar items on the Roblox Marketplace, previously restricted to certain tiers of users.
- An exclusive profile badge that marks a player’s membership status visibly on their profile.

Roblox Plus Bundles: Getting Robux With Your Subscription
For players who also want a monthly Robux top-up, Roblox will offer optional bundles soon after the initial launch. These bundles combine a Roblox Plus subscription with a recurring Robux allowance in three tiers: Plus 500, Plus 1000, and Plus 2000. Each bundle automatically renews monthly, making it a convenient single payment for both the membership and Robux. This is essentially how Roblox bridges the gap for users who appreciated Premium’s currency stipend model.
What This Means for Creators
One of the more thoughtful aspects of the Roblox Plus rollout is how it has been structured to benefit creators alongside players. Roblox absorbs the cost of subscriber discounts entirely, ensuring that developer earnings per item remain unchanged. This means creators do not lose revenue when a subscriber buys at a 10% or 20% discount.
Creators can also earn additional Robux through two new mechanisms. First, if a Roblox Plus subscriber spends 60 or more cumulative minutes in a creator’s paid private server within a 30-day period, that creator earns up to 100 Robux. This payment applies across up to five paid private servers where each subscriber spent the most time that month. Second, if a creator implements the new PromptRobloxSubscriptionPurchase API in their game and a player subscribes to Roblox Plus directly through it, the creator earns a bonus of 250 Robux per month for up to three consecutive months, totalling up to 750 Robux per new subscriber they bring in.
From a business perspective, the announcement also had a visible market impact. Roblox Corporation’s stock closed at $55.59 on the day of the announcement, up 0.76%, reflecting investor confidence in the subscription model as a driver of recurring revenue and long-term engagement.

What Happens to Roblox Premium?
When Roblox Plus launches on April 30, new sign-ups for Roblox Premium will no longer be accepted. Existing Premium members can continue their subscriptions uninterrupted, and they will be offered a free one-month trial of Roblox Plus to run alongside their current plan. However, starting May 30, 2026, Premium members will lose access to the 10% bonus on additional Robux purchases, and the Roblox Premium profile badge will be retired. Their monthly Robux stipend and ability to trade and sell avatar items will continue for now.
Here is a quick side-by-side of the two plans:
- Monthly Price: Roblox Plus at $4.99 flat vs. Premium at varying tier prices
- Robux Stipend: Not included in Plus base plan (bundles available) vs. included monthly in Premium
- Item Discounts: 10-20% with Plus vs. none with Premium
- Private Servers: Free and unlimited with Plus vs. not included in Premium
- Robux Transfers: Free with Plus vs. not available in Premium
- Profile Badge: Active with Plus vs. being retired from Premium after May 30

Is Roblox Plus Worth It?
The honest answer depends on how often you play and spend. For users who regularly purchase avatar items, pay for private servers, or send Robux to friends, the subscription pays for itself quickly. The escalating discount structure is particularly well-designed: it costs Roblox nothing extra to reward loyalty, and players who stay subscribed for three months get double the savings automatically.
For casual players who log in occasionally and do not spend much on items, the benefits may not feel as immediate. But as Roblox continues to add new features to Plus over the coming months, the value proposition is only likely to grow. The platform has confirmed that additional benefits are already in development, and the launch of Roblox Plus is described internally as just the beginning of a broader evolution of the membership experience.
If you are a regular Roblox player, April 30 is a date worth marking on your calendar.
